Complex Case Guidance

1. Introduction

1.1 The term ‘Complex Case’ refers to cases that have not made sufficient progress to reduce risk or secure improved outcomes. They may have elements of drift or delay and are considered by professionals involved as ‘stuck’. Local areas have developed guidance in relation to Complex Case discussions; that aim to offer a fresh perspective and draw on a wealth of experience already within services in order to improve interagency risk management and address potential drift.
