Rough Guides for Practitioners
The Rough Guides are a series of practice guides to support and build on the valuable work which is carried out with children and families in the borough. They have been designed to be read and used by practitioners and first line managers working in all agencies across children’s services.
The Rough Guides are not intended to replace, provide the detail of or interpret legislation, policy, frameworks and procedures, which are all subject to change. Rather, they focus more on the ‘how to’, incorporating key elements of good practice and messages from research, offering advice and ‘top tips’, highlighting pitfalls, suggesting ideas and signposting to sources of information, other Rough Guides, further reading and practical resources.
